Abstract

This study was carried out to compare the amount of apically extruded NaOCI and glyoxide when used as irrigating solutions with and without EDT A . Materials and Methods :

Sixty extracted human upper central lllClsor teeth were divided into four groups of 15 teeth each. Group I: Irrigation with NaOCI .

Group IT: Irrigation with NaOCI + F;:DTA.

Group III: Irrigation with glyoxide.

Group IV: Irrigation \vith glyoxide + EDTA .

The teeth were positioned in the openings of small glass bottles

and supported in place by poly vinyl siloxane impression material (putty / consistancy ) .

All the teeth were prepared with file 1!25 ns the initial apical file and instrumented to file# 40 as the final master apical nle. Irrigation was performed using disposable plastic syringes of 5 ml volume capacity and 25 gauge needle \vith blunt tip.
