Abstract

From the preceeded studies it was observed that respiratory and digestive.affections were greatly

distributed among calves in the overnmental farms at Qena, Sohag, and Assiut.
2- Exposure of calves to different forms of stresses i.e.

transportation, extreme hot and extreme cold climatic conditions, over crowdeness, air droughts, sudden changes in the composition of feeds and feeding systems etc.constituted the major predisposing factors in the incidance of digestive and respiratory disease in newbo calves.
3- It was observed that in respiratory diseased calves the major clinical manifestations were cough, nasal and ccu: discharge, tachypnoea, dyspnoea, and abnormal auscu1tat•
ion and precussion while diarrhoea, dehydration, and

tempany were the main signs in digestive affected calve.

Both signs of respiratory and digestive disturbances were mainly accompanied by signs of general illness such as pyrexia, Anorexia and dullness.
