EVALUATION OF THE REGULATORY ROLE OF TGF-β SIGNALING IN THE MALIGNANT TRANSFORMATION OF INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISORDERS IN EGYPTIAN PATIENTS

Abstract

AIM OF THE WORK The purpose of conducting this study was to understand the regulatory roles played by the TGF-β signaling network at the interface of tumor and host immunity. Working on this direction should help to shed light on the underlying mechanisms through which TGF-β may either act as a tumor suppressor, inhibiting the transformation of benign inflammation, or act as pro-oncogenic, promoting the transformation of chronic inflammation, such as IBD,and facilitate the initiation and progression of malignancy.
