CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL STUDIES ON RABBITS EXPERIMENTALLY INFECTED WITH VIRAL HAEMORRHAGIC DISEASE
ASHGAN FAHMY EBRAHEEM EL-SISSI;
Abstract
Nowadays RVHD become a serious worldwide disease of rabbits since the first description of RVHD in Egypt (1992), high percentage of rabbits population were lost in different localities.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the
clincopathological and immunological profiles of RVHD infected rabbits. Also, histopathological, T.E.M. examination, urenalysis and detection of RVHD virus in infected rabbits were also done, more over the RVHD vaccine were prepared form local isolate and its clincopathological and immunological response were evaluated with
uses of this vaccine as emergency vaccine during RVHD outbreak in
'1
l a private farm. Two experiment I (A & B) and ll (A & B) were
involved in this study.
J
Also, few investigations were done to study some aspects
Fa related to epizotology of RVHD outbreaks in different 6
1 Governorates. Also, the investigation covered detection,
i
identification and isolation of the causative virus. These studies
revealed that, the disease mostly assumed a per-acute form with mortalities (30-100%) occurred without obvious clinical signs in most cases, the disease affected both foreign and local breads more than two months of ages.
Expeirment (I.A):-
21 rabbits aging (4 5 months) were used to study the infectivity of RVHD virus.
