The present study was aimedJ with primary objectiveJ at
estimating the role of some antioxidants namely vitamin A & C in cases of threatened abortion with regard to the outcome of pregnancy during the follow up period.
The total number of cases was 50 cases classified into two groups, study group: 40 pregnant women complaining of threatened abortion and control group: 10 healthy females with early pregnancy. Gestational age varied between 8-12 weeks gestation.
Ultrasonography to assess fetal viability, gestational age &
excluding cervical incompetence was done.
Serum vitamin. A using fluorometric method. <95) & serum vitamin C using laboratory tests. <96) was estimated in all cases of both groups.
Follow up was done upto the end of 2nd trimester. We found in, the study group, that: -
