SOME STUDIES ON RUMINAL AND ABOMASAL JUICE IN HEALTHY AND DISEASED CAMELS

Abstract
amels have an important role among livestock. Camel soundness usually affect by many disorders. The gastrointestinal disorders are one of the most serious diseases so that this work includes the clinical examination of camels and laboratory investigation of rumen and abomasal juice to detect such disorders. Therefore this work was designed to include 50 dromedary camels during both experimental and field study.
Group 1:
It included 44 camels and divided into three groups. They were used for evaluation of clinical examination as well as laboratory investigation of rumina!and abomasal juice.
SubgroupA:
Included 32 camels proved to be healthy by both clinical and laboratory examinations and served as a control. The camels had normal mucous membrane (rosy red), temperature (38.447 ± 0.25 •q,
pulse (34.063 ± 1.256 per minutes), respiration (11.094 ± 0.670 per
minute) and rumen motility (2.38 ± 0.436 per 2 minutes).
