Abstract

(Ge22Set4Te64)wo-xlx glasses were prepared by melt quenching technique. Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS) has been carried out in order to examine the elemental compositions of the prepared spectmens. X-ray diffraction has been carried in the range 5 to 75°. Also, density and molar volume has been calculated to these new glasses containing iodine. Thermal properties, glass transformation temperature Tg , crystallization onset T., crystallization peak Tc were measured by using DSC at fixed uniform heating rate equal to I 0 K/min.
Measurements of the electrical 1-V curves ofthe (Ge22Set4Te64)wo-xlx glasses, (x = 0, 4, 6, 8, 10) have been achieved at different ambient temperatures from room temperature up to343 K. Also, measurements of the electrical conductivity at constant current value to estimate the temperature of the electrical path have been done.
The IR spectra over the range from 400 to 4000 cm-1 were measured at

room temperature for all the prepared glasses. The effects of both iodine content and heat treatments on the optical properties are evaluated.
SEM has been used to insure the effect of heat treatments on the IR

Transmission.
