Analytical Study of Some Drugs Used for Treating Fibromyalgia

Abstract

It includes a brief idea about fibromyalgia, drugs used for its treatment, review of their structures, their chemical and physical properties and different analytical methods reported in literature applied for the determination of the studied drugs in pure form, pharmaceutical formulations and biological samples. PART(II): High-Performance Liquid Chromatographic Methodsfor the Determination of Milnacipran HCl, Duloxetine HCl and Pregabalin in Presence of their Major Degradation Products Section (A): Stability-Indicating HPLC Method for Determination of Milnacipran HCl with Structure Elucidation of Degradation Products and Determination of Degradation Reaction Kinetics Stability-indicating liquid chromatographic method is described for the determination of Milnacipran hydrochloride in pure form and pharmaceutical formulations in presence of its degradates. LC/MS method was used for structure elucidation of its major degradation products. Kinetics of degradation reaction was studied. Chromatographic separation was achieved on an Inertsil ODS-3 250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm column with isocratic elution using 20% ACN, 80% phosphate buffer pH3.6 as a mobile phase with UV detection at 220nm.
