ASSESSMENT OF THE ROLE OF Nd:YAG LASER IN MANAGEMENT OF POSTERIOR CAPSULE OPACIFICATION

Abstract
In this study 70 eyes of 64 subjects suffered from PCO after ECCE with or without IOL implantation for which Nd :YAG laser posterior capsulotomy was done.
High statistically significant improvements in the
uncorrected, best corrected visual acuity and in the contrast sensitivity test results were found, and these
• results were comparable to results of other authors.
The complications of laser posterior capsulotomy
were found to be almost comparable to results of other authors regarding different instruments used.
