Abstract


Coccidioisis is considered as one of the most important diseases infecting poultry, vthere Eimeriasis and Cryptosporidiosis are the most destructive and depletating -coccidial infections affecting chikens. Therefore, the present investigations were designated, where a systematic survey on the enteric protozoa infecting chickens in Port-Said Province was carried out. Tllis study •revealed that out of 385 examined chickens, Ji(6 ( 30.12%) were found infected with Eimeria species-5ht incidence
of the detected Eimeria species were Eimeria acervulina (1 .96%), E.

fnitis ( 18.96 %), E. tenella(85. 34%) E. necatrix ( 47.4%), E. praecox

(J9.65%) , E. maxima (51.72%), E. brunetti (56.03%), E. mivati

09.82%), E. llagani (6.03%) and E. species (n.sp.) (74. 26%). Also it is

•• - Y>oticed that the peak of infection with Eimeria species W<.lS during

/.utumn (36. 84%) Followed by Sununer (34.95%) and Spring (26.6%) and the lowest one was during Winter (25. 71%).
