Abstract


The hand is an organ of grasp as well as one of fine movement, with exquisite sensation and delicate discrimination. A large portion of the brain controls the function of the hand indicating its ultimate development and training, (43).

Wrist pain has been described as the back pain of hand surgery. There are a multitude of conditions that can cause chronic wrist pain ranging from carpal instabilities to referred pain from the cervical spine. Because of this variety of pathologies, it is often difficult to make an
. acprrate diagnosis (44).


Clillical Diagnosis:


Symptoms include pam, weakness, g1vmg way and a so-called clunk, snap, or click during use. Physical examination may reveal tenderness in an area in which synovitis has developed in response to the overloading of articular surfaces, however wrist pain is often difficult for the patient and physician to localize. There are several provocative maneuvers that can be helpful (11).
