Abstract


Adolescence is the critical second decade of human life that links the vulnerable period of infancy and younger part of childhood to adulthood. It is marked by profound biological and psychological changes. In spite of this, Adolescence is a neglected area, as evidenced by the absence of reliable health related information as well as any
/ focused attention through appropriate health coverage.


Aim of the study



To identify the adolescent's information concerning reproductive health issues.


Sample:


Multistage random sample of 500 students attending second and third years secondary schools in Tanta.


Setting:



The study was conducted in Ten governmental secondary schools for both sexes chosen to represent the two sectors of Tanta.


Tool of data collection :


A specially designed questionnaire used to collect data concerning Adolescent knowledge about reproductive biological data (Anatomy of reproductive system, menstruation, sexually transmitted diseases , family planning methods, female circumcision and opinionaire about what adolescents want to know about the reproductive health ).
