STUDY OF HYPERCOAGULABLE STATE IN HIGH AND LOW PARITY NORMALLY PREGNANT WOMEN

Eman Mohamed Ahmed Abia;

Abstract

A hypercoagulable state is defined as a condition characterized by . an imbalance in hemostasis with a
tendency to hypercoagulability, due to pathological

;. activation of the enzymes of the coagulation cascade, but "'• ., without clinical signs of thrombosis or evidence of fibrin deposition .Hypercoagulable states can be classified into
two broad categories: congenital and acquired. The

acquired hypercoagulable states include clinical condit- ions associated with an increased risk of thrombosis.

The current study mms at evaluation of the changes

1n some procoagulants and anticoagulants in pregnant
\
women to test whether coagulation markers would be an additional tool in prediction of thrombotic risk, and to detect whether a high parity women are at increased risk of having a hypercoagulable state with subsequent thromboembolic events than low parity women.
