DESIGN, FABRICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSDUCER MADE OF DOPED BARIUM TITANATE

Amr Hashim Mohammed Mohammed;

Abstract

A lead free Barium Calcium Zirconate titanate (BCZT) dielectric material was prepared by conventional solid state reaction method. Thermal analyses, XRD and SEM techniques were used for the characterization of the prepared powder, as well as the sintered compacts. The results show that, irrespective of the milling time, High values of the relative permittivity approach 24000. The results also showed an improvement in the piezoelectric behavior, represented in mechanical quality factor (Qm ~545) and electromechanical coupling coefficient (kp~74.5 %), which attributed to the higher Remnant polarization (Pr = 56.1 uC/cm2). The obtained results in this study indicate that, these materials can be suitable candidates for ultrasonic transducers.
