EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION FOR THE EFFECT OF STEEL FIBERS ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF RECYCLED REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS
ABDELRAHMAN EMAD HAMDY TAHA;
Abstract
This study investigated the effect of steel fibers and recycled aggregate on the mechanical properties of concrete. The properties under study were: compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of rupture. The used steel fibers ratio (0%, 0.5%, 0.8%, 1%), whilst the studied recycled aggregate were 50% and 100% mixing ratios. Regarding, reinforced concrete beams strength and serviceability criteria were discussed. The strength criteria summarized in: ultimate load capacity and cracking load. The serviceability criteria studied load deflection behavior and load strain behavior. Finally, the optimum steel fibers and recycled aggregate mixing ratio was mentioned for each mechanical property and serviceability criterion.
