REDO SURGERY FOR LOWER LIMB SALVAGE
Yousef Abdalla Yackoub;
Abstract
Failure arterial grafts constitute a problem for vascular surgery, it IS an inevitable consequence of arterial reconstructions.
Graft failure classified as early <30 days or late more than
30 days.
Early failure is generally attributed to technical errors, poor patient selection, persistent underlying disease or surface thrombogenicity of the graft. Other causes include: llow inadequate to sustain patency in the conduit used during a period of increased thrombogenicity, a condition that occurs only with PTFE and other prosthetic grafts buy rarely with a vein graft and hypercoagulable states. Thromboembolic graft occlusions not only occur early but are primarily and intraoperative event.
