THE EFFECT OF LIGHT ON SOME PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS IN TURKEY
Shymaa Mostafa Ibrahim Abou Saad;
Abstract
The present study was conducted at the Poultry Research Farm, Department of Poultry Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Minoufiya University, Shibin El-Kom, through year 2004 - 2005.
This experiment was designed to study the effect of different light colours Incandescent , Fluorescent, Infrared, and Ultraviolet light ) on body weight , growth rate , age and body weight at sexual maturity , blood constituents , semen production and characteristics ,bone strength,• free radical, egg production, egg quality, fertility percent% , hatchability percent % and carcass quality .
1-Body weight:
• The birds exposed to Fluorescent light was the highest body weight at all ages, and the Incandescent light (control) was the lowest body weight.
• The differences between light colours in body weight were highly significant (P<0.01) at 21 and 25 weeks of age and significant (P<0.05)at 37 and 41 weeks of age .On the other hand, they were not significant at 29 and 33 weeks of age .
• The differences between sex in body weights were highly significant (P<0.01).
• The interaction between light colours and sex in body weight were highly significant differences(P
