PHYSIOLOGICAL STUDIES ON TOLERANCE OF SOME VARIETIES OF FABA BEAN PLANTS UNDER LEAST WATER REQUIREMENTS

Adel El-Garhy Mohamed El-Garhy;

Abstract

The present investigation was conducted in Zarzoura Agric. Res station, El-Bohera Govemorat during the three successive seasons of 1998/1999, 1999/2000 and 2000/2001. The obejective of this work was to study the following aspects:
** Chasing some varieties of faba bean plants grown under least water requirments with perducing high yield.
** Using some natural substances as biofertilizer (Halex 2) and garlic or yeast extract, the aim of use these substances:
1- Easy to use 2 -not polltants • 3- Cheap in price
** Study the effect of drought and normal irrigation as well as application of these natural substances on growth characters,
chemical content, endogenous phytohormones, water relations, abscission and total yield of some varieties of faba bean plants such as: Giza 843, Giza Blanka, Giza3, Giza
667, Giza 714 and Giza 717.

The study was divided into two independent parts:

Part 1 : The effect of water regime on varieties (first season ) preliminary experiment servay of faba bean varieties):
• Varieties of faba bean were: Giza 843, Giza Blanka, Giza3, Giza667, Giza714 and Giza717.
