STUDY OF THROMBUS PRECURSOR PROTEIN (TpP) AS AN EARLY MARKER OF THROMBOSIS IN PATIENTS WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE

Nermine Abd El-Malik Amin George;

Abstract

Over the last few years, thrombotic occlusion of diseased arteries cause life threatening: heart attacks , strokes and peripheral ischemia . Thrombosis plays a key role in the pathogenesis of CH]?.
The thrombus precursor proteins TpP are high molecular weight soluble circulating fibrin polymers that are the immediate precursors to the insoluble fibrin found in a thrombus. The polymeric fibrin species detected by the TpP test have been demonstrated in patients with MI, other thrombotic conditions.
The present study was designed to determine the importance of the use of TpP for measuring active thrombosis in patients with coronary heart disease.
* This study was carried out on four groups:

Acute myocardial infarction group (1) including 10 patients . Unstable angina group (2) including 10 patients.
Stable angina group (3) including 10 patients.

Control or reference group (4) consisting of 10 apparently healthy individuals.
* All patients and controls were subjected to the following investigations:

Estimation of serum total creatine kinase(CK). Estimation of serum creatine kinase MB (CKMB). Estimation of plasma thrombus precursor protein(TpP).
• * In the AMI group:

- ;at zero time ,the TpP was significantly increased while CK , CKMB
