Abstract
Hazardous waste includes any unwanted or discarded material which causes significant harm to human health and environment. Crystal glass industry is one of the basic and great industries in all over the world. Most crystal glass factories use lead oxide for making crystal shining which causes their solid waste becomes hazardous.
Heavy metals and especially lead is significant hazard to human health and environment. Hazardous waste Treatment is one of the most important topics in all over the world.
Solid waste resulted from crystal glass industrial activities costs a lot to handle and get rid off safely. Hazardous solid waste treatment and valuable metals recovery is the best solution for saving environment, cost reduction and achieving sustainability.
The results of this work include recovering of 80 wt. % of lead metal and treatment of solid waste resulted from crystal glass industry.
