Abstract


he studies of characteristic features of tooth morphology are important in anthropological researches and it can provide information about diversities within a population and tooth variations.
Studying the internal and external anatomy of the permanent teeth provide us with information about occlusal anatomy, cusp number, root number, root shape Ana canal morphology. These studies called morphological and morphometric studies.
So, this study was aimed to study occlusal morphology, root shape, and root canal configuration of the maxillary and mandibular premolars in a sample of the Egyptian population.
II- Materials and methods:

Extracted teeth
Digital caliper
CBCT
B- Methods:
1) Occlusal morphology:
a- Occlusal pattern:
It was done on extracted teeth by tracing the grooves with a pencil. Then classified according to the standards for characterization of morphological variants of permanent teeth of (ASUDAS) (Turner et al., 1991)
