Comparative Study between Intense Pulsed Light and Fractional CO2 Laser in the Treatment of Periorbital Wrinkles
Eman Mahmoud Ali Abdelaal;
Abstract
he periorbital region is one of the areas showing the earliest signs of aging and is especially prone to skin wrinkles and discoloration. Therefore, patients often seek its cosmetic rejuvenation.
Several treatment modalities have been investigated for their potential role in the rejuvenation of photoaged skin. Different types of Laser devices have been tried in the field of photo-rejuvenation.
Fractional CO2 laser is one of the popular medical procedures when it comes to treatment of wrinkles which can be attributed to the safety and efficacy since it causes microscopic routes that reaches the dermis and causes collagen remodeling. Also using IPL for photorejuvenation has many benefits including the ability to treat multiple aspects of photoaging (pigmentation, telangiectasia, and fine wrinkling) simultaneously, minimal patient discomfort and no down time after treatments.
