Quality of Life for Clients with Parkinson's Disease
Enas Hassan Ahmed;
Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a type of movement disorder that can affect the ability to perform common, daily activities. PD is associated with a wide range of symptoms; there are features of PD that most people with the condition will experience. These symptoms are typically divided into those that affect movement (motor symptoms) and those that do not (non-motor symptoms) (Berardelli et al., 2013).
Worldwide, published door-to-door survey reports of PD prevalence have estimated wide-ranging prevalence from 57 to 230 per 100,000 people (WHO, 2019). Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer’s disease.
Community health nurse (CHN) should assess and incorporate into the program for Parkinson's clients, also should have skills to design programs that meet needs for this clients. The roles of the CHN are important when work in program. These roles include: direct care giver, health educator, coordinator, and liaison for community resources, counselor, advocator, facilitator, evaluator, and administrator (Benbow & Reynolds, 2014).
