“Systematic review of temporalis muscle flap used in head and neck reconstruction”
Mohamed Farouk Abdel-Mobde;
Abstract
This study was conducted to review the literature regarding the soft and hard tissue changes that occur following the use of TMF as interpositional material after gap arthroplasty in comparison with the conventional arthroplasty and other interpositional materials.
Two review authors independently assessed risk of bias for each study using the following criteria:
1. Random sequence generation (checking for possible selection bias).
2. Allocation concealment (checking for possible selection bias).
3. Blinding of participants and personnel (checking for possible performance bias).
4. Blinding of outcome assessment (checking for possible detection bias).
5. Incomplete outcome data (checking for possible attrition bias due to the amount, nature and handling of incomplete outcome data).
Data was entered and statistical analysis was carried out using the Review Manager software (RevMan 2014).
