Arthroscopic Assisted Reduction and Internal Fixation of Tibial Plateau Fractures

Assem Mohamed Mahmoud Ahmed;

Abstract

ibial plateau are complex intra-articular fractures that are considered challenging to a lot of orthopedic surgeons.
Our aim in management of tibial plateau fractures is to reach the best functional outcome with minimum complications.
ORIF has been the standard technique in management of tibial plateau fractures, ARIF was introduced in the past 20 years but didn’t get the expected popularity yet it is a minimally invasive technique providing a better visual access intraoperative for reduction, that’s mainly because it is limited to less severe types of tibial plateau fractures as schatzker types 1-3 with some debate about higher Schatzker types.
Our study concluded that with more level I evidence studies ARIF is an excellent option for management of tibial plateau fractures.
