Comparative Study between Iron Dextran Infusion and Intramuscular Ferric Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex in Treatment of Iron Deficiency Anemia in Pregnant Women: Randamized Clinical Trial

Abstract
Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia among pregnant women, especially in developing countries. Indeed, a majority of women in the reproductive age group in the developing countries are anemic even before conception; pregnancy only tends to intensify it further.
Prompt intervention is necessary for treatment of IDA, especially in women who for various reasons oppose blood transfusion.
The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of intramuscular and intravenous iron therapy in pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia. The included women with Hb8_10gm% were classified into two groups:
● Group A: include 40 patients, received intravenous iron therapy.
