Abstract

Puberty is a dynamic period of development marked by rapid changes in body size, shape, and composition, all of which are sexually dimorphic. Puberty seems to affect girls more negatively than boys. Adolescence is a period of transition between childhood and adulthood(Reena,.2015).
Adolescence can be split into three phases ;early adolescence from 11-14 years old, middle adolescence from 15-17 years old and late adolescence from 18-21 years old (Wilson et al,. 2015).
Adolescent nutritional is crucial for proper growth and development and a prerequisite for achieving full developmental potential. Nutritional problems may be linked to a number of physiological, socio-economic and psychosocial factors. The development of eating behavior is a complex process influences by social, cultural, biological and personal factors (Gilany &Elkhawaga, 2012 ; Soliman et al., 2014).
During recent decades, almost all the Arab countries have witnessed dramatic lifestyle changes including meal pattern. During adolescence, young people are assuming responsibility for their own eating habits, health attitudes and behaviors (Salam & Bhutta, 2016).
