The Effect of Graviola on Cisplatin –Treated Liver, Pancreas, Colon and Breast Cancer Cell Lines

Mai Gamal Abd-Elhadi Awad;

Abstract

Cisplatin (CIS) is widely applied as an anti-cancer drug for various cancer types including liver, breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. However, its usage is limited due to its side effects. Herein, we investigated whether combined therapy of Graviola (Annona muricata) leaves extract (GLE) and CIS could reduce CIS doses without decreasing its anti-cancer potential. Four common human cancer cell lines were selected; liver HepG2, breast MCF7, colorectal CaCo2, and pancreas PANC1.
