Prevalence and Risk Factors of Urinary Incontinence in Frail Elderly males

Abstract
Urinary incontinence is one of the geriatric syndromes that commonly exists among frail older adults due to the presence of multiple interacting factors that precipitate loss of continence and aggravate urinary symptoms. Urinary incontinence leads to physical, psychological, and social consequences. It also exerts negative influence on different domains of quality of life in frail older individuals.
This study aimed to determine the prevalence and risk factors of UI in Egyptian frail elderly males.
It was a cross-sectional study which included 120 frail elderly males who attended Geriatrics Hospital (outpatient clinics and inpatient department) at Ain Shams University Hospitals. Diagnosis of frailty was done using the clinical frailty scale.
