"Immune Response Of Sheep To Infection With Rinderpest And Peste Des Petites Ruminants "PPR"

Ashraf El- Dakhly Taha Shlanney;

Abstract

Peste des.petits ruminants is one of the most devastating viral disease of small ruminants affecting sheep industry causing great economic losses.

There is a relationship between the PPR and RP viruses what make some believed that the two viruses re identically
i
related to each other. So , this study was pla'nned to ensure

the serological relationship between the two viruses and the immune response of sheep to each of them.

The experimental results showed that :

1. Inoculation of TCRPV in sheep did not result in any clinical manifestation or thermal reaction but resulted in antibody formation with a titer reached 8 , 2 and < 2 in animals inoculated S I C , I I Nand P I 0 respectively
by the 12 th week post inoculation.

2. T.C. attenuated PPR virus inoculation in sheep revealed no clinical symptoms in such animals eKcept slight rise in rectal temperature of one animal.The titer of PPR neutralizing antibodies reached its peak by the
4 th week post inoculation.
