Amina Abdel-Aziz Rashad Abdel-Aziz;
Abstract
Nuweiba City, South Sinai governorate, Egypt, is one of the areas that have not been monitored in terms of the presence of dipterous species of human public health importance so far. Another worthy point is that Nuweiba City has many opened drainage system that is considered as good harbor and breeding sites for different dipterous species, besides the Nuweiba Port that facilitates the trading and transportation between Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Such mutual traffic may facilitate the crossing of different insect species among these countries.
Another view point is that using chemical insecticides is considered the fundamental way for combating insect vectors. Repeated application of those insecticides led to the evolution of insecticide resistant strains besides the negative impacts of such chemicals on the environment and public health. Accordingly, the search for alternative natural insecticides, which have little effects or don’t have any unkind effects to the non-target organisms and are easily degradable, remains the top priority. Out of these alternative methods, plant extracts and their phyto-chemicals are good promising candidates for insect control. Moringa oleifera tree, besides it's fitting for human consumption and medicinal purposes, lastly
