Abstract


The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of air particles abrasion, laser irradiation and MDP containing zirconia primer on the color, translucency and surface roughness of cubic zirconia before and after aging
Forty zirconia specimens with standardized dimensions were prepared from cubic zirconia for this study and were assigned into four equal groups, according to the type of the applied surface treatment, with ten samples each:
G.p I: No surface treatment (Control). (n=10)
G.P II: Air abrasion using alumina particles. (n=10)
G.P III: MDP surface treatment. (n=10)
G.P IV: Laser surface treatment. (n=10)
- Then, each group further divided into two equal subgroups:
a- Before thermal aging.
b- After thermal aging.

The mean and standard deviation for color, translucency and surface roughnes were calculated for specimens.
Data were collected and statistically analysis was performed in several steps.
