Abstract
African jazz dates back to the middle of the nineteenth century, in "New Orleans", United States of America. This city contained at that time a mixture of Spanish, English and French immigrants who together form the masters class as each of them owned an abundance of slaves who exploited them in all works, especially agriculture, and in light of these historical, political and social conditions, which coincided with the abolition of slavery in 1836 and the end of the American Civil War in 1865 on the other hand, Negro slaves found themselves free in the city of New Orleans where there are many nightclubs and European dance halls, such as "Waltz and Polka. Thus, European music began to mix with the rhythms and melodies that were preserved by the Negroes and passed down from generation to generation. Those melodies and rhythms of African origin were mixed with what the Negroes learned from the melodies of the Catholic or Protestant Church and thus New Orleans was the cradle of the most famous jazz musicians as it later spread to many of other parts in the United States of America; e.g., New York, Boston, Baltimore and Washington; then gradually transformed until it became a symbol of all of America, and not only the Negroes, but all the white and black musicians alike, interacted with the fine European music and completed its elements until it became a recognized musical language. It is well-known that jazz music is an attractive and enjoyable music as it resonates to our ears distinctive musical rhythms that we feel coming from the depths of the jungle or from the heart of the forests, therefore, such type of music is characterized by its unique composition which is made of rhythmic elements full of dissonances, intertwining rhythms, syncopian rhythms, reciprocity and ecclesiastical music rhythms, and the multiplicity of their forms, including Blues, Ragtime, Pop, Bogy, Je, Swing, New or Lians, Dixeland, which prompted the researcher to suggest a way to understand the basic elements of jazz and simplifying it for the novice student through innovative technical exercises in the nature of jazz music to demonstrate how it is performed on the piano.
