Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis Of Some Pesticide Residues In Some Agricultural Products By Using High Chromatographic Technique

Mahmoud Hamdy Ahmed Abdel-Wahed;

Abstract

Food is important for our life and it may be have dangerous chemicals like pesticides which must be analysed to safe our food and our life. The Egyptian Agriculture pesticide committee (APC) recommended to apply a newly 21 pesticides in Egyptian agriculture although there wasn’t method for analysis there 21 pesticides. The purpose of our study is to develop and validate LC-MS/MS methods for determination of these pesticide residues in different food matrices like fruits, vegetables, cereals and dry herbal seeds.
The first method was a multi-residue method (MRM) for determination of 20 pesticide residues in one method by using the universal QuEChERS extraction method and develop LC ESI (+) MS/MS method for detection of these 20 pesticides in food. Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) and Positive Electrospray Ionization ESI (+) Modes with gradient elution and C18 column were used to create and develop new, accurate and fast LC-MS/MS method in short run time.
The second method was a single-residue method (MRM) for determination of Maleic Hydrazide residues by using the simple and fast extraction method by using 1% formic acid in methanol where the developed LC ESI (-) MS/MS method for detection of this pesticide in food. Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) and Negative Electrospray Ionization ESI (-)
