True Umbilical versus Open Hasson Technique Access for Pneumoperitoneum in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Rami Hassan Mohammed Hassan;
Abstract
he placement of the first trocar remains a critical step in laparoscopic cholecystectomy and in order to minimize complications associated with placement of this first trocar as vascular and intestinal injuries, several techniques have been reported, Two common methods are usually performed, closed technique that requires the Veress needle & open technique that was first described by Hasson (Group B).
In this Study, a modified open technique (True Umbilical, Group A) was described for accessing the peritoneal cavity through a small congenital umbilical defect that is almost universally present.
