Abstract


Suicide is considered a totally preventive cause of death in elders. In our study we found that the prevalence of suicidal ideation among elders in Egypt is 26%. The most associated risk factors in our study was depression and low educational level and oldest old age. Also, our study has a limitation due to the scarcity of psychiatric cases we recommend further reperches in this field.
