Abstract
Background: Communicable diseases are still one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality thus increasing economic burden on family and community. Aim: to assess maternal practices for prevention and care of communicable diseases for their children. Design: A descriptive study was conducted to carry out this study in Abbasia and Elfayoum city and nursery school. Subjects: A convenience sample of 130 mothers were selected to carry out this study. Tools: Two tools were utilized to carry out this study; the first tool a structured interview questionnaire was used to assess mothers characteristic and their knowledge regarding communicable diseases. The second tool was reported practice through checklist to assess mothers practices towards communicable diseases .
