Abstract

Effect of Presence of Prepared Poly (methyl methacrylate) and Nano Calcium Carbonate on the Physical and Mechanical properties of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride
Nano composites for Industrial applications.

This work aims to improve physical and mechanical properties of Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride (C-PVC) compound via addition of Prepared Poly (Methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and Nano-CaCO3 as impact modifier. The work was divided into two folds embraced: (i) Addition of prepared PMMA with Nano-CaCO3 to C-PVC as nanocomposite (ii) enhancement of Chlorinated Poly (vinyl chloride) for injection moulding /Extrusion using CaCO3 nanoparticles as impact modifier. In all parts of the present work, C-PVC nanocomposites were physically, mechanically and chemically characterized. Concerning this, C-PVC with different addition with different present, was improved with regarded to tensile, impact and VICAT temperature. The output of this thesis indicated not only improvements to the physical and mechanical properties but also saving cost.

Keywords:

C-PVC, PMMA, Nano-CaCO3, impact modifier, mechanical properties and physical properties.
