The Effect ofPRGF versusL-PRF on the PrimaryStabilityof Implants in Partially EdentulousMaxilla by Transalveolar Sinus Augmentation

Abstract

Fourteenpatientswere randomlyselectedfromtheoutpatientclinicof theProsthodonticDepartment,Faculty ofDentistry,AinShamsUniversity. Theyareselected accordingto thefollowingcriteria:

•MaxillarykennedyclassIImod. 1.

•Inadequateboneheight belowthe maxillarysinusrequiringsinuslifting.

•Adequate interarch space.

•Freefromanysystemicdiseasethataffecthealingorcauseboneresorption.

•Precisemedicalanddentalhistoriesweretaken.Intraoralandextraoral examinationswere done.Alsotempromandibularjointexaminationwas performed toexamine the maximum opening.

Preoperative radiographic template wasconstructedtoevaluate the bonequantityandqualityusingbeamcomputedtomography(CBCT).Alsothe floorofthesinuswasexaminedtodetectanyinfection,congestionoreffusion andthethicknessoftheschneiderianmembrane.Itaidedinplanning forthe surgeryand selectingtheimplants length and diameter.

The radiographicacrylicstentwasdrilledatthechosenimplantsite to be converted intoasurgicaltemplate.

•AbloodsamplewasextractedandPRGF orL-PRFwaspreparedduring the drillingprocess.
