Efficacy of Atorvastatin in Prevention of Contrast induced Nephropathy in Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography

Abstract
his was a prospective, two‑arm, parallel group, controlled, clinical trial.
Study Setting: Critical and coronary care units at Ain Shams University Hospital.
Study Period: 6 months
Study Population: This study has been performed on 100 egyptian patients are ≥18years of age who have acute coronary syndrome and require coronary angiography
Sample Size: 100 patients.
Ethical Considerations: A written informed consent has been taken from all patients included in the study.
Study Procedures: All patients was subjected to the following:
1. Full history taking especially for diabetes mellitus or hypertension.
2. Full clinical examination.
3. Laboratory investigations including:
o Complete blood count.
o Fasting blood glucose level.
