Abstract

GATA-l and GATA-2 are 2 transcription factors act co operatively during normal haematopoiesis. Our study aimed to detected their expression patterns in MDS and AAML. GATA-2 was detected in 69.6% of MDS cases, while GATA-1 was negative in all cases. In AML cases, GATA-I was expressed in
56% of cases and GATA-2 in 80% of cases. Our study suggests critical role of GATA-1 and GATA-2 in the development of MDS andAML.
