Prevalence of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Cerebrovascular Stroke of Undetermined Etiology

Mohammed Moustafa Ahmed Abd El Aziz Elnwagy;

Abstract

aroxysmal atrial fibrillation represents between 25% and 62% of cases of AF seen by practitioners in both hospital and primary care setting. (2) The prevalence varies widely, because of differences in definitions, the various populations studied and the methods of detections In addition, the prevalence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation could be underestimated, as most epidemiological studies depend on symptomatic episodes, but asymptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is common on Holter monitoring.
