Abstract

Patients with NIDDM commonly have endogenous hyperinsulinemia in association with the insulin resistance . High • plasma insulin levels must be considered in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis in di betes.
The prevalence of the peripheral vascular disease IS

markedly increased among individuals with diabetes mellitus.
