Rania Mostafa El-Sallamy;

Abstract

Workers in Spinning industry are exposed to a variety of occupational hazards exposing them to injuries. These hazards are classified into environmental hazards, mechanical hazards, hazards related to workers themselves.

Work place environment may contribute to injurious accidents because they have poorly maintained equipment, unguarded moving machine parts, defective floors, bad house keeping, toxic fumes and other unsafe conditions that are constant contributors to accidents and injuries at work place. The improvement on the work environmental condition is one of the main objectives to be achieved by the textile and clothing industry all over the world.

Machines may sometimes account for increasing frequency of accidents due to improper lay out, bad design, or lack of maintenance, safety measures are not present in machines as rapidly moving parts are projecting parts without cover.

Human error is an important contributingr1sk factor in at least

90% of all industrial accidents. So pre-employment, periodic training, and safety education to workers are very important factor in reducing risk of injuri s.
