Multiband Highly Linear Receiver Front end
Ahmed Hussein Ahmed AbdelRahman;
Abstract
The thesis is divided into five chapters including lists of contents, figures, and tables as well as a list of references.
Chapter 1:
In this chapter, an introduction that talks briefly about Cognitive Radios (CR) and Software Defined Radios (SDR) and their importance in recent applications is pre-sented. Required specifications and characteristics are then discussed. Next, the objec-tives of this thesis and its contributions are demonstrated. Finally, the outlines of the thesis are presented.
Chapter 2:
In this chapter, several radio architectures that qualify as physical layers for CR and SDR are discussed. Along with challenges and tradeoffs that present themselves to each architecture.
Chapter 3:
Chapter 3 proposes a new architecture that achieves most of the required specs re-quired by CRs and SDRs. It is based on a generalization of a well-known noise can-celling theory presented in prior art. Quantitative analysis and behavioral simulations are presented to prove the concept of the proposed architecture.
Chapter 4:
Chapter 4 discusses circuit design of the proposed architecture. It explores implemen-tation of each building block, along with simulation results for each block and for the complete architecture.
Chapter 5:
Chapter 5 summarizes the thesis and focuses on its contributions and outcomes. It ends the thesis with a discussion about suggested future work.
