Abstract
The effect of 3 and 6 cycles of the chemotherapeutic treatment on breast cancer patients, after mastectomy, with CMF and CAF on the following biochemical processes are summarized as follow.
A. Adenosine degradation:
1. ADA, 5' NT, and AP activity levels are found to be within the control (healthy) level. This result is expected after removal of lesions.
2. CMF treatment has no effect on the activity levels of ADA and AP, while 5 '-NT is significantly increased, with the conclusion that CMF may affect adenosine degradation.
3. CAF treatment causes a significant increase in 5'-NT and AP activity levels with the conclusion this may affect adenosine degradation.
