Abstract

Two and half decades ago, new category of alloys based on multi-principal components has been introduced to the world known as high entropy alloys. The concept of high entropy alloys is based on mixing five or more principal elements with concentrations ranging between 5-35 at% each. These alloys possess high entropy of mixing which is responsible for the formation of solid solution with simple FCC or/and BCC crystal structure. These alloys combine variety of properties such as high strength, good ductility, and creep resistance. Such impressive properties allow them to be good candidates for substituting other heat-resistant alloys in high temperature applications. Hence, merged the importance of studying the oxidation behavior of high entropy alloys at high temperatures
