Abstract

Abstract
Four cases of atonic postpartum hemorrhage due to inertia were reported in control group and one required blood transfusion. No reported cases of postpartum hemorrhage in the study group. 12 cases required administration of uterotonics in the control group while only two patients needed uterotonic administration in the study group. There were two cases of retained placenta that required manual removal in the control group, no such cases reported in the study group. Four cases of atonic postpartum hemorrhage due to inertia were reported in control group and one required blood transfusion. No cases of postpartum hemorrhage nor cord avulsion were reported in the study group. There were four cases of cord avulsion in the control group. No cases of acute uterine inversion occurred in both control and study groups. This shows highly significant difference in all these variables (P is < 0.001).
