Abstract
The dosimetric characteristics of γ-radiation induced free radicals in 2-methylalanine (2MA) pellet dosimeter are investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the high-dose range of 1-100. kGy. The EPR spectrum of γ-irradiated 2MA exhibits an isotropic EPR signal with seven lines. The dosimeter response is humidity independent in the range of 33-76% relative humidity. The manufactured dosimeter is typically adipose tissue equivalent in the energy level of 0.1-15. MeV. The overall uncertainty (2. σ) of the dosimeter is less than 6.9%. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd.
