A filtering technique to lower oscillator phase noise

Abstract
A novel filtering technique was proposed to lower oscillator phase noise. The proposed configuration consists of a lossy resonator, and an active circuit. A large signal negative resistance equivalent to parallel loss resistance across the resonator was presented in the steady-state condition. It was shown that during current-limited operation for amplitudes the current source field effect transistor remained in saturation accounting for the resonator loss.
